The title track, Lights Along the Way, was the first song I wrote during my recovery from a brain hemorrhage. As I took stock of what had happened and reflected on how fortunate I felt, I wrote of my new resolve to “live out loud” and “go gently on the earth”.

Lyrics

All we have is this moment in time
We know this for certain in our lives
Only one brief, beautiful moment in time
What is it speaking to you?

I want to listen hard, I want to live out loud
I want to go gently on the earth
I want to be proud of these moments strung together
Like the lights along the way, like the lights along the way
Like the lights along the way

All we have is one humankind
We know this for certain in our lives
Only one mass of people all intertwined
Who is calling to you?

I want to listen hard, I want to live out loud
I want to go gently on the earth
I want to be proud of these moments all strung together
Like the lights along the way, like the lights along the way
Like the lights along the way

So much radiance shining down

Leading forward, beaming on

All we have is this moment divine
We know this for certain in our lives
Only one big, beautiful moment to shine
What will you choose to do?

I want to listen hard, I want to live out loud
I want to go gently on the earth
I want to be proud of these moments all strung together
Like the lights along the way, like the lights along the way
Like the lights along the way
