Dear Friends,
Joy comes fairly easily to me. (If I had a nickel for every time someone told me I was aptly named, I could fund a campaign or save a gaggle of sea turtles.) But being content is another matter. I’m not good at it. I worry and work too much, and I find fault with myself all too often. But I’m a work in progress, and getting older has turned out to be a gift. I wrote “Evensong” to find more peace at the end of each day.

Who could’ve imagined that Emerson had already captured my “Evensong” sentiments more eloquently? ;)
“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

According to the 4Ocean Foundation:
*More than 18 billion pounds of plastic enter the ocean each year.
*Every day, an estimated 500 million plastic straws are used in the United States alone—enough to circle the Earth more than twice. Most of these end up in landfills or the ocean, where they can take hundreds of years to break down and often harm marine life in the process.
*4Ocean has removed 41 million pounds of trash from our oceans, rivers and coastlines.
