Amplifying Hope | Week 11

Dear Friends,

"Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world." ~Desmond Tutu

What little bits of good have you done this week?

I first discovered Camille Claudel, a 19th century French sculptor, at the Rodin Museum in Paris the summer after college. As August Rodin’s apprentice, model, lover and muse, she contributed to some of his best-known works and created masterpieces of her own. After her father’s death and the tumultuous ending to her relationship with Rodin, Claudel’s brother committed her to a mental institution. Friends and doctors appealed for her release, but neither Rodin nor family members did. Camille Claudel lived the final 30 years of her life waiting for a release that never came.

How many voices have been silenced and lost?
