Amplifying Hope | Week 13

Dear Friends,

“Hope and fear cannot occupy the same space at the same time. Invite one to stay.” ~Maya Angelou

This is a challenging quote for me right now. I adore Maya Angelou, but reality doesn’t feel this straightforward. There are real reasons to fear and to hope. I'm on a daily tight rope. You too?

“The Founding Fathers tried to protect us from the threat they knew, the tyranny that overcame ancient democracy. Today, our political order faces new threats, not unlike the totalitarianism of the twentieth century. We are no wiser than the Europeans who saw democracy yield to fascism, Nazism, or communism. Our one advantage is that we might learn from their experience.

On Tyranny is a call to arms and a guide to resistance, with invaluable ideas for how we can preserve our freedoms in the uncertain years to come.”

The Human Rights Campaign envisions a world where every member of the LGBTQ+ family has the freedom to live their truth without fear, and with equality under the law. We empower our 3 million members and supporters to mobilize against attacks on the most marginalized people in our community.

A newly energized and passionate force of LGBTQ+ people and allies is calling attention to the most urgent opportunities for change – and making that change a reality.

“My’Rish Blessing” is full of sincere and humorous wishes for you!
