Happy New Year, friends!
How are you doing as we launch into 2025? If you're like me, you're wondering how you'll manage your fears for the future. To remind myself of the goodness I know surrounds us, I've decided to amplify hope. I'll be sending out an assortment of inspiration each Monday. Let's persevere and bolster each other!
“Hope will never be silent.” ~Harvey Milk

Our actions reverberate like a bell or a bird singing before dawn. Big thanks to my amazing musician friends who added their voices to “We Are a Bell” from my latest album. Video link

“As a botanist, Robin Wall Kimmerer has been trained to ask questions of nature with the tools of science. As a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, she embraces the notion that plants and animals are our oldest teachers. In Braiding Sweetgrass, Kimmerer brings these lenses of knowledge together to show that the awakening of a wider ecological consciousness requires the acknowledgement and celebration of our reciprocal relationship with the rest of the living world. For only when we can hear the languages of other beings are we capable of understanding the generosity of the earth, and learning to give our own gifts in return.”

I love Stitching Change, a non-profit serving and empowering women refugees here in Kansas City. Stitching Change brings women together to work collaboratively, market their products, and provide them with supplemental income. This wonderful organization also works to repurpose surplus and scrap fabrics into beautiful, handcrafted products, keeping them out of the landfill and preventing pollution. Stitching Change
